WINDREF strives for program excellence by promoting collaborative relationships between regional scientists and leading international scholars, and by adhering to the highest ethical and academic standards in the design and conduct of research . To accomplish this, WINDREF researchers collaborate with a number of Grenada Government Ministries, including Agriculture,Forestry, & Fisheries; Education & Human Resources; Health & Social Security; and Social Development. WINDREF researchers also apply for external funding from numerous granting agencies. Over more than two decades, grants have been secured from funders such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, International Development Research Centre, Global Environment Facility, National Geographic, National Institutes of Health, Pan-American Health Organization, The Nature Conservancy,  UN Development Program,  Wellcome Trust, World Health Organization, WorldBank, and many others.
